Philippe Vercruyssen holds a Master degree in Engineering (Materials Science) from the KU Leuven in Belgium.
He started his carreer in strategic IT consulting at Accenture where he was involved in IT projects for the banking sector.
In 1992 he joined Fortis Private Equity (now part of BNP Paribas Fortis) where he managed on a broad range of investments in Belgian SME's.
He specialized in high-tech and early stage venture capital by joining FLV Fund in 1998, and became head of US investments and moved to Silicon Valley in 1999.
In 2005, back in Europe, he managed for 2 years a secondary portfolio at Origo Management.
Since 2007 Philippe is managing partner at OCAS Ventures where he is in charge of building a portfolio of materials related spinoffs and early stage ventures.
